Bethany Beach Restaurants feature "The Loop"

by Ashley Brosnahan

For years Bethany Beach has been a place where people from all over have come to relax and escape the daily grind of city life.  As always the area has produced some of the best restaurants around.  However not all people who visit know where to go to get a good bite to eat.  Next weekend though a few of the local restaurants in the Bethany Beach area have banded together to show locals and visitors a sampling of their products.

Four local restaurants have come up with a dining plan that they refer to as "The Loop." Anyone wishing to participate in "The Loop" will have a chance to go out to each of the four restaurants and get a small plate of food and a special mini-cocktail.  The restaurants that are participating are Difebo's, Difebo's Bistro, Matt's Fish Camp, and Sedona.  The way it works is you have to make reservations from Anne Fisterwald of Difebo's Bistro. (302) 537-6100.  Once you have your reservation secured you you can start your dining at any of the four Bethany Beach area restaurants.  You will receive a special Loop dining card. After visiting each of the restaurants and sampling their food you will get your Loop card stamped.  At the end of the night you present your card and they will give you a free T-shirt and restaurant coupons.  The cost of the dining experience is $40.00.  The cost will cover all four restaurants but not gratuity for the servers.  At the end of the night diners can return to Difebo's Bistro for live entertainment.

"The Loop" is scheduled to take place on Friday April 27th.  You need to contact Anne before April 21st to ensure that you will get the T-shirt.  The event sounds like a fun way to spend a Friday evening in the Bethany Beach area with a lot of great food.  The planners of the event hope that this will be a great socializing and culinary experience that will become an annual event.  So if you are a local or a visiting local and would like to participate in a fun filled dining experience give Anne a call!

Bunny Palooza

by Ashley Brosnahan

Last weekend was a warm Easter Weekend here in Bethany Beach.  With the warm weather it brought out a lot of people for the Bunny Palooza race.  The Bunny Palooza is a 5k/10k race that started on Garfield Parkway in Bethany Beach and ended on the Boardwalk in Bethany Beach.  The sold out event put on by the Quiet Resorts Charitable foundation drew runners from around the are of all ages.  It was a great event to participate in and view for those of us who aren't runners.  The event ended with a post race party at Mango's on the Boardwalk in Bethany Beach.  Free beer was provided by the local brewery 16 mile.  All involved had a great time.  It was a great event that benefited a great cause.

One unexpected thrill at the end of the event was the Zumba flash mob that appeared out of nowhere right on the boardwalk at Garfield Parkway.  The Zumba dancers assembled out of the crowd and wowed spectators that had no idea what was going on.

A big high five to the many volunteers that worked hard to put on this event in Bethany Beach!
