When you arrive at Bethany Beach this summer, a pleasant surprise awaits.  Locals have had a taste and they’re looking forward to their next bite. Trust me, you don’t want to miss out!

Come on in, get seated, and enjoy the comfort. Heidaway has hip beach surf vibes all around, while still offering a genuine feeling of home. Coastal decor, native plants everywhere, tunes playing, and many exciting conversations going on invite you to relax a bit and enjoy yourself.

But don’t let the comfy, beachy vibe fool you, the food is serious. Seriously delicious, that is! Think fresh, local, tasty, colorful, and creative. This place is definitely one for the foodies. The music is lively, and the vibrant food and craft cocktails will make your tastebuds dance! The pesto veggie pasta was FANTASTIC! As I made my way through the dish, I was amazed by the variety of flavors and textures. Each bite was a new experience, filled with fresh, crisp, flavorful ingredients, making the meal a real culinary adventure. I finished the whole thing!

In addition to serving great food, Heidaway prides itself on supporting local businesses. What makes this so important to Heidaway is not just that they’re getting the best, freshest ingredients, but they recognize that as a local business, the strength of the community is rooted in local support. They want to showcase the unique and superior products that are being produced and grown right here by local artisans and growers. Meat, fish, and produce is sourced from local farmers and growers rather than from the large national suppliers. You can get that type of food anywhere, but here at Heidaway in Bethany, you get a real taste of the local flavor. This not only allows them to serve amazing food, but it also allows them to support the people and families who live and work here that make Bethany so special.

Food options are plenty, and they make a point to include specialty diets on the menu. They are very aware, and attentive to the need for a variety of food options, and are more than happy to accommodate their patrons’ requirements.  Gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan options are available, and we are talking way more than a salad here!

Now it’s time for some sweet talk. There are so many dessert options to choose from. I had the taste for berries (as always) and the server told me about a half pie/half cake type blueberry dessert, topped with fresh juicy raspberries and blackberries. Sign me up! Each bite had just the right amount of sweetness. It had the moist cake, with hints of maple syrup and touches of cinnamon, and the slightly sweet/tartness of the berries, all with a pleasant texture that I had never experienced in a dessert. Yum!

I had to ask for details about this blueberry tasty creation. Who made it? How does it taste so good being gluten-free, vegan, and organic? And trust me, it’s good!

It turns out that supporting local businesses has its advantages… As previously mentioned, Hideaway is known for buying local. Well, it appears they hit the dessert jackpot! The name to remember is Bella’s cookies, they are a Natural, Organic, Vegan company in Milton, DE. Our server stated all of their desserts come from this local baker. How cool is that?

For those who enjoy time at the bar, they have you covered there too! A large variety of creative drinks are on the menu and Happy Hour is from 12-6 during the summer, giving you plenty of time to try all of the unique, creative, craft cocktails on the menu. Trust me, you’ll want to try them all!

The hospitality and personal touches continue all the way to the end. To add that special touch, your bill is attached to a beautiful postcard that will be mailed to your destination of choice. You get to brighten someone’s day while bragging about the amazing meal you just had.
