Great chefs agree that in order to end up with a great plate, you need to start with great ingredients. If it’s time to restock the fridge at home and get ready for your weekly meal prep, or you just have a hankering for some of the freshest produce that the east coast has to offer, it’s time to gather up the family and head out for a grocery trip. When you pull up to Parsons your eye goes straight to the sight of rows and rows of colorful, fresh produce while your ears are filled with the sounds of kids laughing and playing with farm animals.
Why not shop local, support a small business, and enjoy fresh produce. This is a family business located in Dagsboro, Delaware, about 20 min away from Bethany Beach, Delaware. It was founded in 1989 and has been growing bright, vibrant, nourishing farm-fresh produce ever since. This is the type of food that you’re excited to bite right into!
1. Feeling peachy!
Velvety, juicy, fragrant peaches, that can be used so many ways.
Peach cobbler, peach pie, peach crisp, heck, just plain old peaches! These juicy, fragrant, peaches are ripe ready to eat. Just take a bite and enjoy, or get creative and make a dish that wows.
2. Hey honey!
Honey is known for its sweet taste, and even sweeter health benefits. Use it in your baked goods, hot tea, or tap into its medicinal properties. Many people swarm to honey for its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Holistic practitioners have considered it one of nature’s best all-around remedies for thousands of years.
3. Have a seat!
Take a break, sit back, and enjoy the view. There’s nothing like having a nice, relaxing break from life when you’re down on the farm. Grab one of the rocking chairs out on the front porch area and you can look over the entire property. Sit and enjoy a snack and a drink while the little ones are enjoying the animals. The patio style set-up surrounding the stand is welcoming and accommodating, why not sit back and take it all in?
4. Welcome to goat Mountain. Not what you’d expect when thinking produce stand, but it’s really more like a working farm. The Parsons family has included a fun mountain like playset for the goats.
Goat Mountain is home to several goats, a horse, and a couple of Scottish Highland Cows. The kids visiting the animals were very excited and entertained by watching them. The animals appeared to be content, and unbothered by the young visitors. Petting and feeding the animals are allowed. It’s such an exciting site to see goats climb the heights. The wooden structure entertains the goats and the watchers!
5. Delicious Corn.
The corn, oh the corn. It was so good! Not one drop of butter or one dash of salt required. It was truly perfect in flavor and texture. This is the kind of corn you never forget. Ever eat something and it was just done right on, that you won’t forget it? Yep, Parsons Farms Produce made that happen.
Don’t forget the rewards! They offer a reward program, for every $100 you spend, you save $5 off a future purchase. As if you needed a reason to keep coming back, right?
