Ah, Coastal living.. what could possibly be better than an ocean view, beautiful weather, and a nice night out on the town to make you feel right at home while visiting one of the many towns that the Eastern Shore has to offer? The offseason, of course!

I’m sure many of you are wondering what exactly makes these beachfront small towns so appealing once the cold weather hits, but I can assure you that there is much more to the scenic area then what meets the eye.. that is, unless, you have an eye (and taste) for the hidden secrets that keep our cities thriving.

Zoca, a locally owned and operated restaurant in the heart of downtown Bethany is one of the many unique eateries that keep the community thriving. Delicious food, live entertainment, and eccentric drinks will have you wanting to come back for more than just your average visit to a dining room. With specials every day of the week, and a staff that’s accommodating to fit any crowd, it’s hard to contain the urge to be a frequent flyer at this authentic Mexican cuisine.

Outside seating for when the sun is beaming down just right on a brisk afternoon is available with the beach just a few short steps away, surrounded by small shops for that perfect item you never knew you needed. Or head indoors, where you’ll be greeted with a warm smile and a beautifully lit seasonal theme for the holidays. Take a seat at their famous Tequila bar containing dozens of special blends for every flavor your taste buds could imagine. Tune in to the live music playing in the background, and indulge in the ambiance that creates such an invigorating experience you will never forget.

On tonight’s menu, for example, locals were pampered with a special treat. Zoca, which recently opened this past Spring, hosted its very first customer appreciation event where guests were catered to with endless food for free, an open cash bar, acoustic music, and a dazzling showcase of Christmas spirit throughout the restaurant. What could be better, you ask? Let me grace you with a specialty margarita you’ve probably only met in your dreams… This beautiful glass bowl is rimmed with cinnamon sugar and mixed inside is freshly squeezed lime juice, agave, Lunazul tequila and last but certainly not least, apple cider. That’s right, I said it. Apple cider mixed with tequila?! Who would’ve thought? If you consider yourself a foody, then your appreciation for a memorable beverage is unquestionably impressionable and will leave your taste buds aching for more. Don’t worry though, the laid back yet elegant environment is more than inviting and you’ll be sure to feel delighted to try another!

As the holiday season returns, there are several exciting events that will be undoubtedly attracting families, friends, and travelers. On December 7th, the town will be hosting a Meet and Greet with Santa at the Town Hall where they’ll be offering face painting, horse wagon rides, hot chocolate, you name it. Sounds like it’s straight out of a Christmas movie? Well, you’ll have to find out for yourself! Zoca will be continuing their holiday spirit by participating in specials that day, which will consist of a peculiar menu catering to the festivities occurring around town. You won’t want to miss it, and while you’re there, don’t forget to take a stroll along the beach all bundled up with your loved ones. After all, it is the season for love and adventure.
