MEET MIKAELA

Mikaela is a multi-generation born and raised local in the Bethany Beach/Fenwick Island, area. She attended Indian River School District, where she was class president and played multiple sports. Her main sport of choice was Golf, she was the only Female on the team and completed in the state tournament every year. Mikaela has played at just about every course in the state of Delaware, and her home course Cripple Creek is by far her favorite.
After graduating from high school, she furthered her education at The University of Delaware Majoring in both Kinesiology and Applied Physiology as well as Global Health and Nutrition. While in college Mikaela found her passion for helping people through her countless hours on the ambulance as a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician in both New Castle and Sussex Counties. Mikaela worked extra hours during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic to provide her skills where they were most needed in the community.
Spending numerous summers working in local restaurants, Mikaela worked her way up the totem pole to becoming a supervising waitress at Warren’s Station before becoming Assistant Manager at David Twining’s Nantucket's in Fenwick Island. It was through these opportunities that she learned how to ensure the best experience for all guests.
Mikaela always knew after graduation she would move back home to Fenwick Island. Her love for the local area and her family drew her back to where she grew up.

Having an extreme passion for volunteering, when she’s not at the Bethany Beach Fire house as an EMT, you can find Mikaela raising money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital; a foundation she holds close to her heart.
When she's not working or volunteering, you can find Mikaela enjoying the outdoors - either walking her dog Mako in one of the local state parks, playing golf, at the beach or at a country music concert.
Mikaela also loves supporting local small businesses! Growing up in such a small town she knows the impact these businesses have not just on the community, but on the families that own these businesses.
